One-loop bike through the Okanagan Valley with Richter Pass climb (1,000ft) and the long Yellow Lake descent. Flat two-loop run through Penticton.

Conditions

Late August in BC: 70–90°F, dry heat. Okanagan Valley is one of Canada's warmest and driest regions — more like desert than typical Canada.

Aid Stations

Bike aid every 10 miles; run aid every mile. This is one of the longest-running Ironman events and course support is excellent.

Key Challenge

Richter Pass is brutal on a hot day — the 1,000ft climb in dry desert heat spikes effort and sweat rate simultaneously. Many athletes blow up here nutritionally.
